{"id":1238,"date":"2014-03-18T02:27:37","date_gmt":"2014-03-18T02:27:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/187.45.189.210\/~crustaceaorg\/?p=1238"},"modified":"2021-04-27T14:13:17","modified_gmt":"2021-04-27T14:13:17","slug":"oportunidade-de-pos-doutorado-na-universidade-da-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crustacea.org.br\/pt\/oportunidade-de-pos-doutorado-na-universidade-da-florida\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral Opportunity at the University of Florida."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:pt-->The Bracken-Grissom Lab at Florida International University in the Department of Biology and Marine Sciences Program is looking for a 1-year postdoctoral fellow with an interest in evolutionary biology and genomics.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div lang=\"EN-NZ\">\n<p>The Bracken-Grissom Lab is fundamentally interested in the evolution of marine invertebrates with an emphasis on decapod crustaceans.&nbsp;&nbsp;Present research combines molecular, morphological, and fossil evidence to gain insights into evolutionary relationships (phylogeny), biogeography, biodiversity, ecology, origins, and diversification of crabs, lobsters and shrimp.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The successful applicant will be involved in multiple projects that include: 1) large scale phylogenetic\/phylogenomic\/<wbr>population genetic studies of decapod crustaceans and 2) the evolution of bioluminescence using RNAseq data.&nbsp;&nbsp;Mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students will be needed as part of these projects.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience with wet-lab molecular techniques, large data matrices, phylogenetics\/population genetic software, next generation sequencing methods (ex. phylogenomics, transcriptomics, RADseq), and bioinformatics is required.
